Dear Colleague:
Following is my personal overview of our work 'BJERGSTED INSTALL 2002' in Stavanger Norway gleaned from my observations and your comments.

The celebrative installation/performance was a resounding success thanks to Norwegians and Americans who worked harmoniously together for World Peace.

Our Norwegian hosts Astrid Edel Walter, Sigbjorn Berven and Dr. Torger Bo led the way for the World Peace Art Initiative by selecting the Stavanger Konserthus as a beautiful and appropriate site and by securing the funding support to open the WPAI. Other WPAI project sites will follow with the STARR EARTHWORK 2002 in October on the campus of Starr Commonwealth in Albion, Michigan and then the SOUTHERN CROSS in Tasmania, Australia in March 2003.

Because of Sigbjorn Berven's leadership and managerial skills the sponsorship from the Stavanger City through Per Erling Ramsland Legacy, Stavanger Concert Hall, Teamtrade and AGA Gas Co., the installation/performance smoothly unfolded on both Friday, July 19 and Saturday, July 20.

Marc Rizzolo's leadership facilitated the installation crews so that the Hemi Flora Peace Sculpture was physically secured and aesthetically positioned to the max! Ryan Flesher's expertise to assemble the sculpture with assistance from Alexis Babiaz and Bob Relos contributed significantly to the success of the installation. The helium crew led by Linda Talbot Rizzolo and Joan Bonnette with assistance from Julie Leske managed the long assembled line of helium teams by correcting and positioning the 100' to 300' red tubes into the sculpture.

Clifton Hyde's original musical composition 'Hemi Flora Musical Sculpture' performed by Paul and Kristen Hartsaw was extremely well aligned with the undulating aerial sculpture. The 60-minute work in five movements performed by Paul and Kristen had a mesmerizing effect on viewers.

Thanks to Liv Nielson's 'good eye' we now have a complete video documentation of the installation/performance. Sigbjorn Berven and Marc Rizzolo also documented the work in video and stills. Local and national Norwegian media covered the event with photos and text in their Saturday morning press. The Norwegian radio programs also announced the work for public viewing. Clifton's music with Paul and Kristin was partially presented on radio as well. Concertgoers and families informally lying on the grass viewed the work and listened to the music to include Teresa Williams 'Song of Peace.'

BJERGSTED INSTALL 2002 in the final analysis symbolized as an artistic/musical outreach for World Peace. Hopefully it will be remembered as a unique event which evolved from the expertise and talents of two nations committed to the oneness of humankind. Through the arts collaborating with science and technology, the 'souls' of all nations affected by 9/11 can start to heal. Must maybe BJERGSTED INSTALL 2002 will help each of us to re-connect with the value of advocating and nurturing personal and world peace.

My personal thanks to all of you who participated…. It was a job well done!

NORWAY'S WORLD PEACE EVENT PROPOSAL
WORLD PEACE ART INITIATIVE: NORWAY, JULY 19-20, 2002

In October 2000, representatives from Australia/Tasmania, China, Norway, Italy and the United States met at Starr Commonwealth Albion, Michigan to develop long range plans to create not-for-profit large scale earthworks and celebrative events where schools, communities, states and nations could work harmoniously together for World Peace through Arts Initiative.

Norway's celebrative event is being directed by Mr. Sigbjorn Berven, Ms. Astrid Walter and Dr. Torger Bo of Stavanger, Norway. They are planning with the Director of Bjergsted to hopefully sponsor and present an arts event free for the public at Bjergsted. These celebrative world peace event components include a musical work with dance by U.S. and Norwegian musicians and dancers with the original peace musical score composed by Mr. Clifton Hyde of Chicago, Illinois.

Installed at the Bjergsted will be the Hemi Flora peace sculpture (see attached visuals), which requires air and helium inflation. The helium required is 10-15 bottles of helium @ 293 cubic feet (U.S.) per bottle (canister).

We are seeking a donation from the AGA Company (Linde Gas Company) in Norway for the 10-15 bottles of helium necessary for this World Peace Event in Stavanger. We appreciate past donations from the AGA Company (Linde Gas Company) for events in the U.S. and to view past events see website: www.mmp2000.com.

Other World Peace Art Initiatives are being planned for October 2002 in the U.S. in Albion, Michigan where Starr Commonwealth has donated 37 acres to create the Starr Earthwork. In March 2003, the Southern Cross earthwork will be staged on 30 acres donated for Tasmania/Australia where children's art and text about peace from around the world will be presented. The Peoples Republic of China staged an International Sculpture Event in Beijing Summer 2001related to World Peace.

Especially since 9-11, we hope to reflect to the world through the Norway's Peace Event, the Starr Earthwork and the Southern Cross, our nation's and world's mission for peace. We expect participation to be very high and national and international media coverage should be immense. We would credit the AGA Company (Linde Gas Company) in all literature according to your wishes.

Thank you for your consideration in this matter and please contact me as soon as possible to know if we can collaborate together for world peace.
