Corporate Sponsorship
The Michigan Millennium Project (MMP) is seeking corporate sponsors/partners for the Michigan's celebration of the year 2000. The MMP is a statewide community/national event, featuring the work of approximately 20,000 volunteers and 50,000 participants, before, during and after the completion of the event; millions of citizens at state and regional levels will witness this celebrate millennium event to be televised internationally.
The basic goals of the project are to celebrate the past, present and the future through the use of new and old light technology, i.e. laser lights in shoreline lighthouses and campfires every mile along the Michigan shoreline. To document this global celebration, there will be satellite and/or aerial photography of the event. In accordance with this event, there is a great need for citizen, community, government and corporate support. The MMP has created an office staff, a web site, and a significant volunteer base and has received the support of Governor Engler, past Governor Blanchard and Engler, the DEQ and the DNR. The MMP has also procured start-up funding from the Michigan Council for the Arts and Cultural Affairs, Art Serve and the Michigan Technology Council.
The MMP is currently attempting to partner with three key corporations to make this celebration a reality. Besides operational funding, your sponsorship dollars will be targeted at the many communities and other stakeholders taking part in the event. There are several unique marketing, public relations, product sampling and point-of-sales opportunities available to your company prior to, during and after the Millennium event.
Available to you upon request is a packet discussing the sponsorship opportunities that are available. We have taken the liberty to offer these packages in five tiers, Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 3, Tier 4, and Tier 5. Each package has slight differences that may suit your companies needs more effectively. If you are interested in one of these three sponsorship opportunities, please email the MMP office to arrange a meeting or to discuss your potential involvement with the Project.
