Description
Fire Site Guidelines
-
Township Fire Chiefs Al Rosinski and Chuck Stander
will make the final decision at 5:30 PM as to whether the test fires may
be lighted.
-
Firewood shall be carried by hand or on plastic
sleds.
-
Use the wood provided. Burning treated
wood or wood with nails. screws, paint or varnish is prohibited.

If you are to check in with Dick Catton at CR#
669, he will give you special instructions for accessing fire sites in accordance
with NPS requirements. If you are to check with Laura Quackenbush at
CR# 651, firewood shall be transported on the beach
-
Your fire site will be marked with a numbered
stake. Fires are allowed between the water's edge and the beginning
of the vegetation. The closer to the water the better.

Absolutely no accelerants shall be used to initiate
or accelerate the fires.

Fires shall be lighted between 6:30 and 9:00
PM and be at a maximum illumination for one airplane fly over at 7:00 - 7:30
PM (sunset) and a second at 8:30 - 9:00 PM (full dark).

When traveling to and from the fire site, do
not walk in the dune grass or vegetated areas.

Burn your fire down to ashes of leaving charred
wood a size less than a commercial charcoal briquette.

All Fires must be attended at all times until
they are extinguished with water.

Do not bury fires.

There shall be no motorized vehicles on the
beach.
-
Fires shall be extinguished and debris buried
or removed after 9:00 PM.

All trash and extra wood shall be removed from
the fire sites.
